Major Cross Announcement - September 28, 2007:

Due to the excellent attendance of the Chicago Cyclocross Cup Series first race at Jackson Park in Chicago (over 210), the Cross Cup committee has changed the entire race schedule to reflect a more evenly spaced grouping of riders that will allow USA Cycling officals to more effectively score participants. Please read the revised schedule carefully. Several Categories have been separated, while others are lumped together with staggered start times. Officials will advise participants with different finish times during races. Please note that the Men's Cat 4 has been split into A's and B's. Please see definitions for Men's Cat 4 to determine which group you wish to participate.

Lake/EJ's Place Juniors (30 minutes)
1:00 pm (staggered starts)
Blue Competiton Cycles Cat 1-2 (60 minutes)
Sun Ringle Cat 3. (45 Minutes)
2:15 pm Men's Cat 4 A “Advanced Racers -(Licensed or One-day by choice)
3:00 pm Men's Cat 4 B “Beginner Racers – (One Day licenses or first year racing).

Definitions:

Men's Cat 4 "A" - Race participants that have an annual USA cycling license as a Cat 4 or 5 that have raced 1 year of more in road or cyclocross. One day license purchasers may be permitted to race 4A by the choice of the individual. The overall winner of the 4A groups will win the 2007 Chicago Cyclocross Cup Jersey and will be eligible for Illinois State Championship medals (only Illinois Residents). Scoring will be tracked for both A's and B's separately. Once you have decided to be a Cat 4A you cannot compete in Cat 4B races for the remiander of the series.

Men's Cat 4 "B" - Race participants that are truly beginners that do not have an annual USA cycling license, or first year license holders (Road as Cat 5). Also participants that competed in Cyclocross 1 year or less. Non-licensed participants must purchase a USA cycling ONE-DAY license for $10 for each race. The winner for the overall is NOT eligible to win the 2007 Chicago Cyclocross Cup Jersey or the Illinois State Championship medals. Cat 4B racers may move to Cat 4A races with the stipulation that no points will be carried from B's to A's for overall points determination.

Payouts will be for the Cat 4"A" as follows 1st - $30, second - $20 third $10

Product will be for Cat 4 "B" three to five places as product allows.
